Week MMII 30 Na wat zomerse stilte weer eens een week. Hierna volgt weer stilte. Er moet hoognodig gevlogen worden. Het NK-Berg in Greifenburg gaat beginnen! Weining nieuws dit keer, wel belangrijke informatie. Er is opschudding ontstaan over het (al weer) breken van een aluminium karabiner. Dit keer was het geen verchroomde! De vermoedelijke reden was al snel geanaliseerd: als een karabiner tijdens de vlucht niet goed gesloten is, wordt hij belast als een open C en niet als een gesloten O. De krachten op een karabiner kunnen zo hoog oplopen dat hij dan breekt. Die ouderwetse stalen schroefkarabiners zijn dus zo slecht nog niet! Ze zijn weer volop te koop. Met de groeten van E-Lijn ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Bruch eines farbig eloxierten Austri Alpin-Parafly-Alu-Gleitschirm- Karabiners (22.07.02) Das verfügbare Teilstück (siehe Bild) des gebrochenen Karabiners wird momentan untersucht. Die sichtbaren Beschädigungen am Schnapper wurden nach Angaben des Piloten nach dem Unfall verursacht. Die weiteren Ergebnisse der Untersuchung werden hier veröffentlicht. Die optische Untersuchung des Bruchstückes lässt auf einen sog. Gewaltbruch, d.h., einen Bruch durch Überlastung schließen. Nach Angaben des Piloten hatte der gebrochene Karabiner einen leichten Defekt am Schnapper. Gelegentlich musste das Zuschnappen mit der Hand unterstützt werden. Möglichweise hat der Pilot bereits einige Flüge mit nicht verschlossenem Schnapper durchgeführt, ohne dies zu bemerken. Die Belastungen die hierbei auf den Karabiner wirkten, könnten eine bereits vorhandene Verformung, die für den nicht sauber verriegelnden Schnapper ursächlich war, noch zusätzlich verstärkt haben. Es muss davon ausgegangen werden, dass auch beim Unfall-Flug der Schnapper offen war. Die Schnapper- offen- Bruchlast der Parafly Alu- Karabiner liegt bei 550 daN (=kg). Der Pilot, mit ca. 130 kg Startgewicht, flog im Moment des Bruches eine steile Kurve. Hierbei können kurzzeitig durchaus Kräfte von annähernd 3 G wirken. Zwischen dem dadurch erreichten Belastungswert von ca. 390 kg, der zum überwiegenden Teil auf der kurveninneren Seite wirkt und einer minimalen Schnapper- offen- Bruchlast von 550 daN, ist nur ein kleiner Toleranzbereich, der möglicherweise durch die oben erklärte zusätzliche Verformung des Karabiner noch geschmälert war. Der DHV empfiehlt allen Gleitschirmpiloten Wenn ein Karabiner nicht ordnungsgemäß funktioniert, z.B. der Schnapper klemmt oder das Schließen mit Handkraft unterstützt werden muss, könnte eine Verformung vorliegen. Diese Karabiner müssen umgehend ausgetauscht werden. Vor jedem Start sollte zusätzlich eine Sicht- und Funktionskontrolle erfolgen die sicherstellt, dass die Karabiner tatsächlich geschlossen sind, einwandfrei funktionieren und keine Beschädigungen aufweisen. Dies gilt unabhängig vom Fabrikat des Karabiners. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Voor de vliegende GPS liefhebbers die een Garmin Etrex Vista in hun bezit hebben is per 12 juli de software Update v2.28 beschikbaar. Nou en? zul je zeggen.... Het belangrijkste nieuws is dat het glijgetal (glide ratio) wordt weergegeven. Ook kun je de glide ratio to destination laten weergeven. Ook is de compass-pointer uitgebreid. Deze geeft je zeer nuttige informatie indien je een keerpunt naderd. Het nieuwste speeltje van Garmin is de GPSMAP 76S. < snel kijken! Hij is groter van formaat en: -waypoint proximity instelbaar (eindelijk) -3D weergave -acoustisch alarm -externe antenne Doe maar eens een produkt vergelijk met je favourite GPS. Veel completer heb ik ze nog niet gezien! Doe je voordeel ermee! groet, Luc Akkermans ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Fantastische prestatie op Europees Kampioenschap Nadat vorige week Leo Westerkamp goed gescoord had op de EK, heeft Ruud van der Heijden dinsdag 16-7 een voor Nederlandse begrippen fantasische prestatie geleverd door als 51e van de 140 piloten in het dagklassement te eindigen. De uitgeschreven task was een elapsed time race, d.w.z. dat de tijd van elke piloot individueel gemeten wordt vanaf het moment dat hij de startlijn overvliegt. Geen enkele piloot heeft de finishlijn gehaald, de eerstaankomende kwam na ruim 2 uur vliegen 55 seconden te kort! Het was bijzonder spannend, de hele kopgroep zat dicht bij elkaar. In die kopgroep was vooral het Zwitserse team goed vertegenwoordigd. Dat team maakt dan ook een sprong omhoog in het landenklassement. Ruud slaagde erin ruim 31 km te vliegen voordat het tijdvenster gesloten werd. Als de task nog langer had geduurd had hij de finishlijn waarschijnlijk gehaald. Dit onderstreept weer dat het Nederlandse vliegen in de lift zit. Leo was wat minder op dreef. Hij werd geplaagd door een oorontsteking en dat had zijn weerslag op zijn concentratie. Hij was niet, zoals Ruud, met de kopgroep gestart. Vervolgens kwam hij tijd te kort en kwam daardoor niet erg ver. Helaas zijn de weersvooruitzichten voor Slovenië verslechterd. Het wordt nog spannend of er nog meer geldige uitslagen voor het klassement komen. Met de tot nu toe behaalde resultaten mag het team echter al heel tevreden zijn. HANG GLIDING (Class 1) Results added are the Europeans, the Icelandic Championships and the Women's Worlds. Deleted were the Australian Nationals 01 and Forbes 01. There are significant changes in the top 10 with the deletion of one of the Australian competitions and the inclusion of the Europeans. Manfred Ruhmer (AUT) takes his rightful place in number 1 spot deposing Gerholf Heinrichs (AUT) to 2nd. Antoine Boisselier (FRA) jumps 6 places to 3rd place and Gordon Rigg (GBR) moves up to 4th. Oleg Bondarchuk (UKR) stays in 5th but Jean-Francois Gerard (FRA) makes it into 6th place from 14th. Mario Alonzi (FRA) moves up to 7th place, and Robert Reisinger (AUT) jumps 5 places to 8th. The biggest gain is made by the acrobatic Guido Gehrmann (GER) who leaps 33 places to tie in 9th place with Andreas Olsson (SWE) who himself has gained 10 places. In the nations ranking, France is still in number 1 slot but Austria moves into 2nd and Germany leaps into 3rd place. USA continues falling into 4th, GBR moves up to 6th and Australia slides to 6th. back into 2nd place. Brazil drops a place to 7th, the Swiss gain a place to 8th and the Ukraine moves up to 9th with Sweden completing the top 10.
